I'm thinking of joining both groups and i'm white non hispanic. I would like to know if I can join both groups and if not, I would like to know what disqualifies me from membership.

Peanuthead,you mean just because i'm not hispanic, I can't be part of their group? Kind of like the Klan only takes white people? That sounds a bit racist to me.

ricmon,I just checked on mecha and we couldn't agree more. They don't look very white friendly! That one is definitely for hispanics only.

First off, I think you should do some research so you're able to make an informed decision. Don't know if it will help or not but I've added a few links below.
You could join la raza if you denounce non-hispanics and love Mexico. I think Hillary is one, they're helping her with her campaign. Hillary caught on real quick, she's already called anyone not wanting amnesty, racists.
Mecha? Aren't they Chicanos? Chicanos are separatists, they're a political group, a communist group. Are you communist? Do you want to be? They believe the US Southwest belongs to them, not the USA. They consider our Southwest to be their Aztlan, which they plan to conquer. So If you denounce Americans and love communism you might have a chance with them. Although you'd have to prove yourself since your white skin would be an instant turnoff. They, like la raza, want everything for their people, nothing for the rest.

You can join La Raza. MeCha I'm not sure about.I really haven't checked into that.La Raza does have members who aren't of Latino descent.

Yes anyone can join. But you might be too old for MECHA...most of them are young college students, although if your old I'm sure they won't discriminate.
But anyone can join La Raza (NCLR)...As long as you are not racist towards Hispanics....but reading some of your posts like "White Victim, Mexican Criminal", I think you might have some dislike towards Mexicans.

About Mecha, it may be only for Hispanics, but more for the hardcore ones, but definitely not for Hispanics like me.

In the University I go to (UW-Madison), they have a Mecha group there, and i went to one of their meetings, but it wasn't what I expected, they were nice, friendly, no hate, no bashing, they only wish for Latinos to do good in college, etc. But I still didn't like it because it was a little annoying and boring.

No, you can't join. They are separatist like the current day KKK (MEChA, I mean). That is why the Grand Wizzard of the California KKK supported Bustamonte (MEChA.)
