What do I think? I think it's STUPID that you are getting so upset about this stuff when there are worse things in the world going on. I also think you are being very judgmental and are probably jealous that someone close to you has a harmless crush on a celebrity, and you are taking it waaaaay too seriously. Otherwise, why else should you care?

Crushs are for the most part fun as long as you keep things in perspective. For example, I've had a "crush" on Rick Springfield since age 11. I am now 46, a mother and a grandmother. Why a 3 decade long "crush"? Because I love his music and songwriting and yes, because he's still HOT after all these years! Hearing his music and seeing him in concert sets back that biological clock at least 25 years!

Do I enjoy going to his concerts? YES. Do I cherish my memories having a meet and greet with the person who inspired me to be a singer and songwriter myself? YES, and I will for a lifetime!!!

Do I like fantasizing about him (sexually or otherwise) once in a while? Absolutely...but NOT to the point where it interferes with my job performance or quality time with my s/o, friends and family. Do I think I'll ever actually have sex with him? No (darn it lol). Do I think he'll leave his wife of 23 years for me? NO..I'm not a homewrecker...nor am I delusional! Am I gonna throw over my sweetheart of six years in pursuit of a delectable but very UNATTAINABLE rock star? NO WAY IN HELL!

Does my man feel threatend? NOPE! In fact, my man went to a concert with me this year and enjoyed it a lot. So he knows there's no reason to be jealous. While I have a passion for Rick (and several other stars), my real-life guy is secure in the knowledge that I LOVE him, and want to spend my life with him, and that Rick or any other star is in no way a threat to him and our relationship....and more than I (or any other fan) am a threat to Rick and his wife's relationship lol.

Methinks you have been paying too much attention to the obsessed psycho fan tabloid stories. True dyed-in-the-wool celebrity obsessed/stalker type people are only about 1% of the population...so why stereotype everyone else just because of the minority of nutjobs in any fandom? Most NORMAL people can tell the difference between fantasy and reality...even if you don't think they can!

Just because a person finds a celebrity or even an everyday person attractive, or has fantasies of any kind about them, including the sexual kind, it does NOT mean that they are going to go out and act on it. Besides, who are you to think you can control what someone else does, thinks, or feels about anything? Why don't you just quit being such a wet blanket with the guilt tripping and just mind your own freakin' business!

I see nothing wrong with having crushes on celebrities or even fantasies...as long as that's all it is.

I, myself, had a MAJOR crush on an actor named Bobby Sherman (you've probably never heard of him) and if I ever met Tommy Lee Jones in person, I'd die a happy woman, but I realize these things were never going to come to fruition, and I am happy in my life.

And I don't believe it "shows that if you could have them, you'd leave the one you're with"...it's just idle talk and everybody does it at some time or another (think about all the people who talk about "If *I* won the lottery" or "If *I* had a million dollars, I'd....").

And I *still* don't see anything wrong with it.
