I have that same problem. Only I also get it on my chin, around my nose & in my ear. I went to the dermatologist & she told me I had a skin condition called Seborrheic Dermatitis. Watch this video to find out more:

You may have to see a dermatologist to get a prescription cream if you want it gone by the 1st day of school. The over the counter stuff does't work that well.
Here is more info about dermatitis:

Understanding Dermatitis -- Symptoms
What Are the Symptoms?
Dry, reddish, itchy skin indicates some type of dermatitis, or skin inflammation, of which there are many types.

A red rash that is limited to the area of skin exposed to an irritant is probably contact dermatitis, an allergic reaction.
Red, itchy, circular patches of weeping, scaly, or encrusted skin signal nummular dermatitis, common in older people who have dry skin or live in dry environments.
Greasy, yellowish scales on the scalp and eyebrows, behind the ears, and around the nose indicate seborrheic dermatitis; in infants it is called cradle cap.
Scaling, sometimes ulcerated skin appearing inside the lower legs and around the ankles may indicate stasis dermatitis.
Extreme, persistent itchiness may signal atopic dermatitis, or eczema. Many times, however, itchiness results simply from dry skin.
Call Your Doctor If:
Your skin has oozing sores or other signs of infection. You may need treatment with antibiotics or other drugs.
The affected skin does not respond to treatment with over-the-counter creams or medicated shampoos. You should have a medical diagnosis and treatment.

I got that on my nose; it really sucked.
I used aveeno daily face moisturizer, but this is waht the doctor said my problem was:
The face wash I was using was too strong for my skin, and it was killing all of my skin. I switched to a sensitive skin formula of a less strong face wash. It worked, and then I used the aveeno stuff, and the skin was ogne in a week.good luck!
And i know its not sunburn, but put suncreen on just to avoid further drying/peeling!

Get St. Ives Invigorating Scrub for: all types of skin. It works great and it will get rid of that peeling and dried skin...I swear by this stuff and use it everyday.

use a scrub with larger beads in it to get rid of dead skin. don't rub too hard and irritate your skin. then moisturize with something lighter. not some heavy, greasy and oily lotion. once it sets in maybe use a face mask (clay one, not too drying) to shrink your pores and then wash it off with warm water and a washcloth. wet your face and the cloth and take it off slowly with warm water and the washcloth will kind've be like a scrub-effect too. good luck!!

Neutrogena is not a greta product for you. I recomend toothpaste. refreshing scent, and kills 99.9% cavities on your face, or in your case......
...peeling

it will probably go away,
just put lotion on it,
moisturize it, so it doesn't peel anymore then it should
hm, maybe your reacting to something?
if it doesn't go away soon, go to a docter doll
