make small balls out of the mashed taters
roll the balls in raw egg

Well, they are good many different ways, it's just a matter of taste. Some of these answers are really silly and don't make much sense, I hardly think that anyone would even think of serving them raw or much worst rotten, well maybe some might like them raw, anything is possible. Just don't under cook them and watch your calories.

Just don't undercook them - they're not realy good 1/2 way cooked.
What I like best about spuds it that they absorb salt so well: if you have over salted stew or soup, just add more spud. All better!

If you boil them too long they can fall apart and basically disinegrate in the hot water. They will be too water-logged. if you don't boil them long enough...you'll have hard chunks in whatever you are using them for.
