Well the reason she chooses the carpet, because carpets reminds cats and dogs of grass! They see it as grass, not carpet!
The reason your having problems to begin with is when you got her and brought her home, you didn't set up boundries for her, When bringing a new puppy or kitten into your home, you have to limit them to one room until it learns the paper is the toilet! (or Litter box)
because if you don't everything and every place is there toilet!
And is so easily taught from the right patient person! Here's what I do everytime I have to train a kitten or puppy! It all takes little steps to success!
Ok, take your puppy and for now if you have no way to block her off into the kitchen with child gates, block her off from the rest of the house in the bathroom if tiled and not carpeted, but first take out everything the puppy could get into, that is on the floor including the little trash container, toilet plunger and toilet paper if she can reach it, you'll have to put it up on your bathroom sink counter, make sure she can't get a hold of shower curtain, rugs, toilet paper, towels etc, Then cover the whole floor with news papers, I find it easier to not get a huge mess and for the puppy to think she can have a field day with the papers, I tape all the edges down, so there's no way the puppy can play and destroy all the news papers!(Don't use duct tape) use masking tape!
Before putting her in there and closing the door if you don't have a childs gate! Make sure her favorite blankets, toys and water and dry food is all set up for her so she,s not as scared so much when you leave her there! I find the best time to do this is close to the time the puppy would be hungry!
She may at first make a big roughest, and it's Ok to check on her every once in a while to reassure her everything will be OK! Remember your not punishing her, Your teaching her!
She didn't know any better going on the carpet!, but once trained to paper she will know better!
Now here's the easiest most effective way you can teach a puppy! No If' and But's about! You do this and you will have a completely trained puppy in a matter of days!
1) Do Not take Puppy outside anymore to go potty! and if you want a completely paper trained puppy only! and if not just paper trained we will get to that later!
2) The minute you noticed she pottied on the paper, don't! I repeat! Don't clean it all up, leave a little!!!!!!! The next time she has to go to the bathroom she will sniff around and she'll find that spot and go again there!!!!! That's where 99% of the people make the biggest mistake, cleaning it all up!!!! Don't!!!!!
3) OK, your half way there!!!!!! Now you have to wait and watch for her to do the other potty!!!! There are 2 right!!!!!! Ok when she does the other one!!!!!!!! Same thing don't clean it all up!!!!!!!!, Leave a little there!!!!!!!! Now all you have to do is give her time to keep going where she had the first times, If for any reason the bathroom gets torn up by her, You can put all brand new news papers down all over again!!!! BUT you have to save a good size piece of news paper that she did her duties on, Both kinds!!!!!!!!! but both on seprerated good size pieces of news paper!!!! Set them 2 pieces a side before you clean up all the other news papers, then when you cover the floor with brand new news papers! Now you can start teaching her where YOU want her to do her duties! Put the pieces of papers she had went potty on into the same room in a brand new cat litter box but have the litter box covered with news papers first, then put the duties papers onto of them! You are now teaching her the litter box is her bathroom!!!! when ever you clean the litter box news papers always save pieces of paper with her 2 different kinds of duties on them, for you will need to put them on top of the new news paper every time you clean it! DO NOT FOR GET!!!! YOU MUST DO IT THAT WAY ALL THE TIME! until she's completely trained to the litter box! ( If she's to small to get into the litter box you will have to cut the entrance to it down way lower!) make sure sure is able to get in and out od the new cat litter box very easily, if not cut the entrance down lower!
Be sure to put the litter box farthest away from
her food, blanket, toys etc. farthest away from all of that! Now I know you may be wondering what makes me a pro, Well I have a chihuahua and I trained him in 1 day! and now he's 6 years old and has never went on the floor again! Plus I trained him to a cat litter box, but no litter, news papers only! puppies will play in cat litter and get it every where, I tried that and found out the hard way that it wouldn't work for a puppy!
If your puppy decides it wants to digg the papers out of the litter box , you may want to tape them down in there too!
4) Ok, your almost done!!!! Keep doing the things I said for at least 2 - 4 days if your not home all day, like I was at the time I trained my Puppy! That is the best and fastest way! Ok until you know for sure she knows where to go potty don't release her to the whole house just yet! If you feel she's doing good and not going all over the place in the bathroom, you can take her out into another room like maybe your bedroom first where you can close the door and but before you do that get the litter box, with her duties on the news papers that are in the litter box, always have the litter box in the same room you have her in, It's a Must to be succeessful Whenever you decide to clean the litter box, do the same thing you been doing in the bathroom, always keep the 2 pieces with the duties on them, so you can return them back to the box after cleaning it!
4) OK, now your getting her trained the right way! the reason I have you do the cat litter box, Is because it's move able to any room you want to have it when the puppy knows that's her bathroom now! So now all you do when she catches on, is to slowly let her go to more rooms of the house, but you must at first always have the litter box in the room she is most of the time going to be in! don't have the litter box to far away from the room she is most of the time going to be in, it will be hard for her to find, and then there will be accidents again! she will have to be 6 months old at least before you can put the litter box in one certain area of your house, but it can't be too far from the main area she'll most likely be!
Onces she get good at using the litter box, then find a good place to be out of the way from you and your family but easy for her to find! When the whole household is going to be gone for long hours, put her and ( her litter box ) and toys etc. in a room with a door and everything should be just fine when you come home! but make sure the room is safe from her getting injured, no electrical cords on the floor etc.
5) If you want to train her to outdoors potty too! always have 2 seperate pieces of paper she did her duties on when you bring her outside, do not put her outside by her self, You have to be there to reward her for doing her duties right, and showing her where to go! never push a puppies nose in there duties to try to scold them , NEVER!!!! I don't allow my chihuahua to go outside, I feel he's very well trained to a litter box and now that he's well trained I clean up after him as soon as he went to the bathroom in it! He knows that is his bathroom, so I don't have to leave the pieces of duty papers anymore! But you always have to remember if at anytime you lock your puppy in a seperate room with a door that you will be closing, her litter box will alway have to be with her, even when she 's full grown, she has to always have her litter box accessible at all times! or you will destroy all the work it took to train her! Oh P.s I forgot, get all the places in your house cleaned good where she use to do her duties, because all it will take is for her to sniff the spots and she will go there again!!! they have shampoo's and sprays to clean spots dogs have went potty! check your pet shop! You must get them area's cleaned up before you expose her to those area's again!

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aMUEL
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.
