Funny you should mention it, I am a former chef and have made it here in Canada and when I worked in Singapore, in fact I just bought a box of kulfi molds in the Little India section of Toronto Canada last week, they are long tapered molds with a closed bottom.

I love the Pista one, or almond, saffron with raisins is always good and I make one with cashews, rosewater, and a dried fruit from India, cooked in syrup, serve it with the sweet vermicelli and rose syrup.

In Singapore we made it in rolls and served it with various fruit purees, and even did some with Durian and durian syrup.

Yes, i have heard of this. Here is an ice cream recipie.

ICE CREAM SQUARES

Base:

30 graham crackers (wafers) crushed
1/2 cup butter, melted

Filling:

1 pkg Jell-O 4 oz. any flavour
1 cup boiling water
1 pint vanilla ice cream

Topping:

1 container Cool Whip (optional)

Combine graham wafer crumbs and butter. Place mixture in an 8 X 8 pan. Press down. Do not grease pan. Do not bake.
Mix Jell-O and water. Stir in ice cream until melted and well blended. Pour over crumb mixture. Place in refrigerator to set.

Top with Cool Whip, if desired, or can be sprinkled with a few left over graham wafer crumbs. Can also be frozen for an extra cool treat!

yeah lol i was born in india and we go there sometimes soi grew up eating kulfi ice cream (pista & malai)

my mom makes it sometimes too, or we go to the indian store to buy them lol

yeah i have! Its good. But i dont like any ice cream with saffron in it. I think pista mostly doesnt have saffron, so i like it. Tutti Frutti is my favorite.
