If you mean bad by criminally bad, yes. I had an ancestor in Aberdeen who built guns, he was connected to bandits and he supplied them with arms and even took part in raids of theirs in the northern highlands of scotland. The blackbeard thing could be true because as blackbeard travelled the seven seas he pregnated many different women on different islands and lands. So there is probably a trail of his descendents all the way from Britain, to the caribbean, to the USA!

Well, I don't know if I would call it bad per se as it was in the olden days, but my gr gr gr etc.father, I don't even remember his name at the moment, was the last man hanged in England for (?) blasphemy or something like that. It's been so long since I've touched my genealogy work, but this section is making me curious, I should get back into it.

I don't think he was bad, even though his tintype photo makes him look like he actually does chew nails for breakfast, but my great, great grandfather was known in the mountains of Greece as Jimmy the Assassin. This is really an American translation because in Greece his name was Demetrius.

Jesse and Frank James (western outlaws)
are my cousins.
I'm also (supposedly) a direct descendent of the king of Scotland, but I don't know if that's really true.
