did Jesus resurrect Lazarus.
He was a good guy, Jesus' friend.
For sure he went to heaven.
Why did Jesus bring him back to earth after 4 days?

Interesting question.

I don't know scripture to back it up (at this moment), but is it possible that the dead "sleep" until the resurrection of Jesus...?

Will watch to see what others say.
Good question.

Jesus fulfilled prohecy. Jesus IS the life. He did it to make a point to all mankind. And, the reason he waited until the 4th day is because in that culture, the belief was that a person's spirit hovered over their body until the 4th day, and then the spirit went away forever. The fact that Jesus brought Lazarus back on the 4th day, is what made it a miracle to those people of that day. If Jesus had brought lazarus back any earlier, it would not have been so great of a miracle, since the spirit would have been hovering there anyway.

Look at the timeline here from a Christian persepctive:

- Jesus had not yet died for the sins of all mankind.

- Therefore he had not ressurected.

- If Jesus had not ressurected that the gates of heaven would not have been opened for believers

- If heaven was not open then Lazarus would have been left to sleep in the dust until Jesus did rise.

It was also a miracle that showed Jesus' alledged power and also help confirm for some what they thought - the Jesus was the Messiah.

The Bible doesn't say that all the good go to heaven. It says that all who believe that Jesus came, died, and rose again, for your sins. Those are the people that will go to heaven. Jesus resurrected Lazarus to show His power over death. It was a miracle.

Jesus said no one is good except for my father in heaven. We all fall short of the glory of God that is why we need Jesus in our lives to go to heaven.

He was providing a miracle to Lazarus's sisters. It wasn't for Lazarus that He did this, it was to ease the suffering of his sisters. It was also an opportunity for Jesus to teach Mary and Martha about faith.

The only people in heaven will be those who admitted that their righteousness would NEVER be good enough to get them there! Thats right....the only ones present in heaven will be those who were allowed in because they trusted in the goodness of ANOTHER...ie: Jesus Christ.

Only the 144,000, or the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class, will go to heaven.

Beats me. But I know with all the atheists on here that paradise won't be over populated. And that's nice.

I believe it was for the benefit of his sisters. Jesus did not have to do it. He wanted them to believe and not doubt
