YES
If you have a warrant and there is extradition you will be picked up if the originating agency still wants you. I have seen towns down the road refuse extradition on murderers and Las Vegas extradite for unpaid parking tickets (don't cheat Vegas out of money) If it is a misdemeanor just get it cleared up.
Contrary to others beliefs we do a lot more than Customs Laws, and our authority under border search is pretty expansive, about the only thing we can't do is ask you who you voted for.

Really? A thumbs down? Like I don't know what I am talking about? I just arrested someone yesterday on a misdemeanor warrant. So I am pretty sure this is the right answer

Ok... first off, you're asking about 2 different entities. The first is a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer. If you enter the United States via a port of entry they will check your ID.
If you have a warrant and if the originating agency is willing to extradite, you're taken into custody.
If you enter between the ports of entry you are likely to encounter a border patrol agent. If a border patrol agent encounters you he or she is going to check your ID. If you have a warrant and if the originating agency is willing to extradite, you're in the same jamb.
CBP officers and border patrol agents alike have a very broad search authority. I'm not going to go into all the variations dependent upon where a BP agent is working. However, you need to understand, if you try entering between the ports of entry and encounter a BP agent, that agent's enforcement authority is expansive. The Border Patrol is classified as a federal police agency and does routinely take violators with outstanding local warrants into custody if that violator is encountered during the course of the agent's regular duty. This means, if the agent stops you for investigation under color of federal law and then discovers a local charge, he or she can detain you long enough to turn you over to local enforcement personnel for extradition.

I believe max power stated yes, i will concur with him. I have arrested over 60 people on misdemeanor warrants. we enforce over 600 laws for over 60 agencies, which means we are the main enforcers of the laws of Federal/state and local. Don't go to Mexico unless you get it taken care of first.
It is obvious that the other people who answer this question really have no idea. Also there are Customs officers (CBPO) when you cross a border, there are Customs agents (investigations), and there are Border Patrol agents-If you try and cross illegally. This is a quick gist of knowledge of who is where!

YES!!!! If they find it. Arrest warrants order all law enforcement officers (whether federal or state) to arrest someone. They can detain you then call SDPD to come and pick you up (if it is a state warrant). If it's a federal warrant then they will call the Marshals and they will pick you up. That is, of course, assuming that they find the warrant. They will find it if they run your ID (which they are doing more and more). If they don't run you ID you probably wont get caught. My suggestion: it's a misdemeanor!!! Hire a lawyer and deal with it. Chances are you don't even have to show up to Court to deal with it.

I'm not sure if you asked me this question earlier or not, someone emailed me and asked me the same question. It is highly unlikely that border patrol would check any warrants or even Id's for that matter, especially for a minor offense. I would not worry too much about it, you should be fine. If you have fines and costs it would be good idea to take care of them! Good Luck!!

Customs police only arrests those violating Customs laws but not those with misdemeanor warrants.

Unless you have your picture noted on a watch list the agent has no authority to detain you unless you have documentation issues.

No. They'd have to run your ID. The likelihood of them even stopping you for anything would be slim to none.
You'll be fine.
