I spent less than $50 for 2 kids on supplies only. I've never figured out the whole buying back to school clothes thing. Why can't our kids wear the same things they did last year? It's not like their teachers are going to say to them hey didn't you have that outfit last year? If I were to buy clothes it would only be a new pair of shoes because that's about the only thing that my kids have outgrown.

My daughter goes to private school, so supplies are included. As far as clothes I probably spent $300 shoes included. This is her first year so she doesn't have any uniforms yet. My sister's kids go to public school and she spent $210 on 3 kids supplies. My Mom spent about $700 on clothes for them.

It really depends on the kids age. my son is going into first this year. This is what we bought him. If you can get any supplies cheaper then this do it.

Pencils should not cost more then $2
Erasers $3
Bag pack $15
Crayons $4
kids sissors $5
Folders $.70 a piece

Totals $29.00 with out tax

1 or 2 new shirts if on clearance $4 each.

Jeans 2 pair $5 each.

Shoes if needed $15

My son starts 1st grade this year. I spent $30 on supplies, and around $50 on clothes and shoes. I don't go over board on clothes because I know they will end up stained.

I have already spent well over $500 on my 8 year old daughter. She had a growth spurt over the summer, I guess, because none of her clothes or shoes from last year fit her anymore.
I just went to JCPenny last night ( they had buy one get one for $1 on a lot of stuff ) I got her like 9 outfits for $200.
