can someone help me understand some stuff...is the uterus intra or extraperitoneal organ?as i understood so far, the ovaries and fallopian tubes are.and i need some good pictures or an explanation regarding the lig.latum and teres uteri.thanks

Uterus is intraperitoneal - it is inside the peritoneum just like the ovaries and fallopian tubes.

Ligamentum (lig.) latum uteri means the broad ligament of uterus.
Ligamentum (lig.) teres uteri is the round ligament of uterus.

Broad ligament of the uterus is known as ligamentum latum uteri (Latin). Round ligament of the uterus is known as ligamentum teres uteri (Latin).

as far as i know (lig); an abb. for ligament, (uteri) means womb; where the babies grow and (teres) means something round in shape.
