It is just a fun game. No more, no less. No one can see the future. With or without a deck of cards. Anyone who takes it seriously is being silly.

Christianity is currently off divining the future. That wasn't always the case - Aquinas was quite keen on Astrology. The symbols on Tarot cards are associated with the occult (even though the game they were designed for is quite harmless) so Christianity is not keen.
The Catholic Church puts Tarot readings in the category of "spiritualism, dealing with the devil and other suchlike fooleries", so don't offer to read your parish priest's fortune.

Some view it as harmless fun, like reading a horoscope in the newspaper. Others view it as nothing short of direct communication with Satan.
Isn't it odd that many Christians consider a horoscope or a palm-reading as harmless, while a ouija board or tarot deck are regarded as downright evil?
My own take on things is as follows. Only God can know what the future holds. Thus any predictions that prove correct are either (a.) lucky or (b.) an act of God.

At times tarot reading can be nothing more then just doing a cheap palor trick. But there is a spirit to it as well. If you speak to a pagan they will tell you one thing about them.
And as a Christian I have a different opinion. Yes, to me it is like playing God, and asking for guidance into your life by going to something else other then God. Because as a Christian I need to seek the Lord's wisdom on things before I seek a stack of cards.
I am not going to dis pagans, as that is there choice and faith. But I will not use tarot cards to seek wisdom, or guidance in my life.

I'm Christian (I believe in Christ) and I don't particularly like the tarot deck. It is insightful for sure, especially when learning how to use the language of symbolism, but it tends to be dark, and final. Not a lot of 'challenge' compared to other decks.
My favorite is mah jongg (Derek Walters-not available for purchase now) because it doesn't approach obstacles the same way as tarot. It is more superficial, but it isn't as doom and gloom.
Love the mayan oracle and Medicine cards too. Dreams are the favorite though. They are far more personal in every way.
I don't limit God to the Bible. God is bigger than that.

Hahahaha @ zp being so difficult to influence :)

If people don't believe in what the Tarot cards represent, and use them for just entertainment only, then the Tarot card reading doesn't mean anything.
As a Christian I know that when people seriously believe what Tarot Cards represent then their beliefs conflict with what the Bible teaches. The Bible tells people to not consult fortune tellers, so Christians shouldn't use Tarot Cards for entertainment either.

I can read that Tarot has only one "r". Sorry.
One cannot "read" into the future. One can only say what they see in a game of cards so that the other person might choose to interpret it the way they want.

It is a form of entertainment, and should not be taken seriously. However, it can be, just as gambling is, a form of entertainment that can evolve into a harmful vice if taken seriously and no limits are in place. Any vice can ruin the lives of many, if not properly monitored and kept in mind only as entertainment. It is too bad when people get carried away by what appears to be an easy way out.

I don't think getting a tarot or any apparent vision into the future is going against Christianity. If you were to trust it more than fate or God's will then maybe but in general you are being intuitive and inquisitive not blasphemous.

Being RC also, my view is that it can't work as I will not give it power to work.
It's not wrong though.
I place no faith on learning something from Tarot, it's possibly a gift from GOD, that I will not understand, so can't hinder or help. Like seeing ghosts, or talking in tongues. There are many gifts from GOD. I have to just accept I have the gifts I was given and others have their gifts. Wanting their gifts is sinning (to covet) so I try never to do that.
