I live in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and I wanted to know if anyone knew what you had to do to become a county sheiff. What are some of the regulations and the requirements? I'd Apperciate the help

You will need your law enforcement standards for the state of Pennsylvania. Call the sheriff's department you'd like to work with and see if they have "TEA" which is temporary employment while you go to school.

Check with your local college to see if they offer a criminal justice degree or criminal justice academy. Good luck!

I applied, tested (written and physical), interviewed, filled out a lot of paperwork, and took an oral board. Then waited for a few months for the bi to be completed. Then there is a few more processes that must be completed after a post-employment offer. It's just like any other job in the beginning, you have to apply if you want to be considered. As far as the Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office goes, I couldn't tell you their specific regs. for hiring eligibility.

Study hard, read a lot about law enforcement and be physically fit are the only choices for you to become a good cop.
