Don't run until you feel sick. Run easy, not too fast. Run so you can talk, when you feel like walking then walk until you feel like running. If you have a set distance and course then just do it without worrying about the time. If you are starting out then try to do something for about 20 minutes. After a couple of weeks you should be able to run the entire distance. The important thing is to get started exercising and become regular at doing it at least 3 times per week. Cool down when you are finished by walking and then easy stretching. Drink plenty of water so you are not dehydrated.

well, make a route around your block or something and run at your own pace (make sure it's a steady pace that you could keep the same the whole time) on the route you made. Depending on the length of your route, go around as many times as you want, until you are pretty tired. Then, the next day, run one more lap. Then the next day, run one more etc. etc. This will get you into shape and you'll see, the running will just get easier and easier, and you'll be able to do more and more laps.
And also, for me, as a breathing pace, i take 2 breaths at a time and make a beat, e.g. in, in, out, out, in, in, out, out...etc. and they only have to be small breaths. Good luck and be safe.

first u should start with some streches before each run. for about a week run like 1/4 mile like 3-4 times. then go onto 1/2 mile run for a week. then 1 mile run. as u get better, increase ur distance. and take a bottle of water with u each time.

Wait for the weather to cool down, then start going on easy 45 min. jogs. After a while increase your speed and length, and throw in some hills....felling sick or bad afterwords is natural.

Start gradually. Don't over do it. But do push yourself.
There are lots of helpful web sites on the web. Just go to Yahoo and search for something like "runners program for beginners".
Here's one that I found:
http://running.about.com/od/beginnersrunningprograms/a/4weeks2miles.htm
Good luck.
Running is a good sport and can keep you healthy and fit.

Hello,
Try the 10-week schedule below. It gradually eases you into running without the shock & stress of doing too much too soon. It really works!! The key is gradual increases in effort...and patience. Best of luck!
