Harry Potter is fiction! It encourages children to read.It does not contain any elements of any religion including Satanism.
Let me put it simply:

No. It's a fantasy story from a brilliant author. None of it is real. Have you even read it? IT'S A BOOK!!!!!!!! No one is supposed to believe it. Why are you protesting a book that gets children to read instead of play computer games or watch T.V. all day? It actually promotes the whole good vs evil and love vs hate thing and shows that good and love are stronger than evil and hate. J.K. Rowling herself is a Christian, you idiot. It's not as if it's the only book that has FANTASY magic in it. What about LOTR, Cinderella, and every other fairy tale. The magic in those (especially Cinderella) is no different than the magic in Harry Potter, and there are even wizards in LOTR. Why Harry Potter? Go through the fantasy section in any bookstore. I doubt you'll find even one that doesn't have magic in it. Why waste your time protesting a FANTASY realm, when you could be supporting more worthy causes such as feeding the hungry, fighting some fatal disease or anything else that might actually produce some sort of result.

I think it's a very well sold series of books for children, and also many adults seem to like it. As an atheist I've even got the idea that Harry Potter makes children more receptive for religion and the paranormal.
I hope future generations will hold their ratio together.

Have you bothered to read the books? Or do you automatically condemn them outright because they are in the fantasy genre?
Are all fantasy books satanic because they involve magic? Why are J.R.R. Tolkien's and C.S. Lewis's books accepted by the Christian community, then?
Reading murder mysteries doesn't mean you want to rush out and kill some one. Reading fantasy doesn't mean you want to become involved in satanism or witchcraft either.
Stories ARE powerful because they have the power to affect our emotions and minds in ways that nonfiction can't, like soul reaching out to soul. But if you get too caught up in looking at the clothes or jewelry some one is wearing, you won't see the real person. Likewise, if you get too caught up in looking at the "trappings," the genre, you won't see the heart of the story either. The heart of the story is what counts.
I am a born-again Christian who has read all seven books. I think that books #4-7 should not be read by very young children because, in my opinion, they contain some scenes that are too intense. That is my only objection. But some Christians refuse to let their children of any age read them, which is a poor way of dealing with the issue, regardless of your opinions about it. My final verdict, having read them all the way through, is that I will read them again. One reason the story has captivated so many is because it speaks to our need for a hero--to have a hero and to be a hero. The ultimate hero is Jesus, and in many ways, the story of Harry Potter, especially the ending (I hope this is sufficiently vague--don't want to spoil it for anyone), is reflective of that.

In what way does your statmenet link Harry Potter to Satan? Would you explain this connection you have made so that we might better answer your question?
Never mind, I reread the statement and saw what I missed.
To answer your question, no harry potter is not a deception of satan. Harry potter is a book, plain and simple. To go around and blame anything that is non-christian on satan is simply foolish. Yes children like the books/movies, but if you don't want your child exposed to it, do not take them to the movie. Do not buy them the book. The answer is quite simple.

the devil is not in a book or magazine. he is in your heart.
Harry Potter is simply a fantasy book that children love...
is the devil in Cinderella? or The little mermaid, or any of the other disney classics, that i would bet are in 80 percent of the homes of people that scream against Harry Potter.
oh,,
I am a Pagan, and an Occultist... there is no magic in the Harry Potter books. nothing of any real hostoric or magical use what so ever. some terms are used, and they are used in very loose context that is all.

No,Harry Potter is a character in a book, which is the only relation he has to Satan since Satan is also nothing more than a character in a book. But that would be where the similarity ends.

Consider the background of the author, J.K. Rowling:
Rowling is a member of the Church of Scotland. She once said, "I believe in God, not magic." Early on she felt that if readers knew of her Christian beliefs, they would be able to "guess what is coming in the books." Rowling also has stated that she makes her struggle with her own beliefs: In an interview with the Today Show in July 2007, she said, "...until we reached Book Seven, views of what happens after death and so on...would give away a lot of what was coming. So … yes, my belief and my struggling with religious belief and so on I think is quite apparent in this book."
Based on the above, my answer to your question is a resounding "NO!" I find the fact that you asked the question in the first place to be demonstrative of the dangers of so-called religious fundamentalism and the irrational fanaticism it breeds.

PL, Harry Potter is a character in a work of fiction. He exists no more than Satan exists. Imaginary, you see? A fantasy.

Walk me through the process of which a child watches Harry Potter then becomes immediately doomed to hell. I'm not seeing that 1.
