I had been using the name Red Queen with a sketch done by Boris Vallejo. While he is one of my favorite artists, the pic just wasn't *me.*
I did a Yahoo! image search, typing in simply, "Red Queen."
My avatar pic was the first to come up. Immediately, I knew this was the one for me. She personifies how I feel about myself now that I have lost 120 lbs and wear a size 6.

Yes, I usually find them when I'm searching for something I have in mind, and I save all the images that I find and like related to that, not only the one I choose to use. Others, especially the ones related to my name, are sent by friends that find them and think of me. :)
Most of the pictures I use now, I've had, and have been using here, for many months. Everybody knows and like them, and my closest friends even know how I am feeling, based on the picture I'm using. And some write asking for me to use this or that, that they like most, because they need a special smile. :)

This wasn't my main account. This was supposed to be a temporary account that started off as **** Cheney. When a friend started a Star Wars theme, I switched to Darth Cheney.

The eagle picture came with my computer with some other photos. I like this one, because It feels natural for me, new spiritual heights.

If I want a new avatar, I wait for a random thought to pop into my head, I google it, and put it up as my pic.
(the devil horns on this one were actually added by another user for me... long story)

I got some of mine from Yahoo Image Search, some were taken from e-mails I've gotten and some from a computer disc of pics my daughter gave me.
Oh, and some from MySpace.
