Dogs vomit easily. It may be part of that wolf heritage where wolves carry back food and regurgitate it for their pups.

It could be that he is getting into something like grass that sticks in his throat and causes him to throw it up.

If he's very skinny - you can feel/see his ribs easily and see his hip bones - he may be an anxious individual. If so, you can give him more obedience training to build his confidence. You can also play tug of war with him and let him win half the time.

Nervous, skinny dogs are most apt to bloat (a problem especially if he is a large breed older dog) so working on his temperament is really beneficial. If your dog was having a problem with his food, he should be throwing up more often.

I would look around for grass, hair balls, plastic, wood chips, sticks, bones, etc. that could be causing the problem.

Could be the food, seriously I would take him back to the vet. My dog threw up when I fed him dry food that contained chicken, so when I changed his diet to beef he's okay. In the meantime I took him to the vet who gave him meds to settle his stomach. For me and my dog, this worked. I wish you and your doggy the best.

If he's an older dog, it could be kidney diease, have the vet do blood work and a renal check..

your dog may have an allergic reaction. it is odd that your vet doesnt say anything, have you tried mentioning it to your vet? if your vet says your dog is fine and no worries... i would seek a second opinion.!!

The food. It must be the food. Change it to something else or make the food yourself!
