I have recently gotten into drinking quality whiskeys. I am still learning about the different types and am enjoying the act of trying many different varieties.

For now, I've enjoyed sipping the whiskey's cold. I used to put them on ice, but as the ice melts, the whiskey becomes too watered down.

After opening the bottle, is it bad for quality to stick it in the freezer? Taken from the freezer, it is not necessary to add ice, but if it's bad for the flavor of the whiskey, I will instead buy some bartending equipment.

Does freezing a whiskey have any effect on overall quality or enjoyment if stored for a week or two?

It is still drinkable. With an original alcohol content of 40% or higher it cannot support the growth of any harmful organisms. If the cap had been loose enogh to allow evaporation it would be different. The alcohol content will go down not up through evaporation. Alcohol evaporates faster than water. Also be aware that whiskey does not improve with age after it has been bottled, unlike wine. Tne alcohol content and lack of enzymes prevent this.

It won't freeze even a little. Alcohol doesn't freeze because of the sugars involved, I think.

I always store my liquor, including whiskey in the freezer and it makes it perfectly chilled. Same quality. Enjoy!

You'll never freeze whiskey solid, you are merely chilling it to near freezing temps. No harm to the product...some people have been "freezing" or storing their Vodka forever in the freezer.

make some liqoured ice cubes in a ice cube tray, so if you put them in your drink, it won't be watered down.
