I just got an e-mail from someone claiming to be from Nigeria saying something like one of my ansestors and his immediate family were all killed in a car crash and that he had $9,000,000 put away somewhere and he is trying to locate the money so he can disburse it to our family but he needs my help funding the search for this lost money...blah, blah, blah. I would like to forward this e-mail to the proper authorities so that they can go after these criminals who are trying to defraud people out of U.S. dollars that desperatly need to be pumped back into our own economy. I think enough of our money is alredy going overseas!

Look, this is a scam. Also called spam. Many people who are active on the internet get several of these emails every month. Its a well known and documented problem.

You could do a search on "the Nigerian scam" or related topics, and find someone to complain to. But frankly its a waste of time for you to do that, because first, the problem is well known. And second, the people committing the fraud are probably not in the same country that you are in, so law enforcement is difficult. And third, unless you stupidly give them information on you, you are not yet a victim and no crime has yet been committed on you.

Just ignore it and go on with important things in your life.

They have a special email to report 419 scams but so many are reported that they do not get involved unless the person has sent substantial money overseas or went missing after going overseas to claim the money. I can't find the email address now so that reporting method may be discontinued now...

heyyy please ignor all of that. that is all a SCAM. i got a call saying that a guy died and there he left millions of dollars and i would like you to help me. first of all nigeria is a very poor place. second its all a lie. they want you to help them this way if they get caught or anything they blame everything on you. so just forget about it because at first when i got the call i was very happy thinking i was gunna get sum money but its all a lie.
