Why can't we refer to illegals as "Illegal Foreign Nationals" instead of "Illegal Immigrants"

This would put the problem in the lap of the State Department where it belongs, there by adding a few more teeth to the issue. It may also stop the constant interchange of the terms "Illegal Immigrant" and "Immigrant' used constantly by the "pro people" for thier senseless arguments

Because people are terrified that if we start identifying them as foreign nationals we could call them invaders which would make what they do an act of war. Although a small percentage of people are too stupid to see that they are doing exactly that every time they cross the border a growing number of Americans are starting to see them as just that.

If you are referring to the "Illegal Immigrants" from old Mexico than that is exactly what they are. If you or I decided to "run" or swim into another country and work we would most likely be shot on sight. These are people who choose to come here and put not only thereselves but children in harm's way to do so. They are "Illegal Immigrants". I was born in the U.S. and have to have a "number" issued by a Federally recognized tribe verifying I am an a United States Citizen.

Because foreigners who are not intending to stay in the US, but whose visas have simply expired haven't done anything "illegal"

They are subject to having to apply for an extension, pay a $200 fee, and they are required to apply for future visas in their home country. UNLESS, they have a good excuse.

It is not even like speeding, it is more like overtime parking.

An EWI (Entered Without Inspection) and a person who entered on a non-immigrant visa who engages in employment without authorization (regardless of whether his visa is expired) has committed a misdemeanor and presumed to be an "immigrant".

So say Carlos Helu (Mexican), the world's third richest man came yesterday for a meeting with President Bush and his one year multiple entry business visa expires today, but it takes time to get a new one. Do you want to handcuff him and deport him? Do you know how many Americans could be arrested and deported under similar circumstances? Do you care? Or have you never visited another country?

I hear you, but I think a foriegn national is someone whose home is still in the other country. An immigrant is someone, legal or not, who comes here with the intention of living and staying for an extened period of time.
I call them what they are. CRMINALS. period. no qualifier.
I laugh when todays criminals try and equate themselves to previous generations of immigrants who came here legally and followed all procedures required by the gov't of the country they where entering.

I like calling them what they are. Illegal Invaders. They have illegally invaded the USA.

I say we put up guard towers along the entire southern border and lease them out to hunters. Live target practice and fresh meat for the freezer.

They disrespect America and our laws. Why should I grant them any level of respect when they disprespect America?

Declare a "no man zone" along the southern border. Erect guard towers 800 meters apart and lease them out to hunters.

Well if we are going so PC these days; or having it shoved down our throats.... Why not call those that cross the borders..Navigational handicapped illegal aliens while we're at it.
