Sounds like someone has a bias and hatred of the west. The east had plenty of imperialism periods. Mongolia, Persia, Islamic Caliphates, USSR imperialism, Japanese imperialism, Chinese imperialism, etc.
You speak as though only the west has blood on its hands.

No. Why do you think that would create a war?
Also, why are you so sure that the West will deteriorate? There's no evidence to support that. It isn't East vs. West, it is free vs. unfree. Freedom is what leads to prosperity. So far, many Western nations are still free, and will still prosper. Many Eastern economies are starting to become free and are starting to prosper. I hope they continue, but they will need to maintain freedom if they want to maintain prosperity, and they still have difficult questions ahead about that.

A change in mortgage repayments will not topple the West.
Almost every economy is tied to the US through bonds, no one but a few nutcases want to see the US economy fall.
They will help bolster it if necessary, a.k.a. France's surprise visit to Iraq. A show of support by a country who has been totally non supportive in past - week of drop in stock market. They are all tied together.

WW3 already happened....it was called the Cold War.
we are now in WW4, extremist Islam against everyone.
remember a world war is always very different from the one before...
WW1 was trench warfare..
WW2 mechanized (tanks Bombers, etc.)...
WW3 under the cover of fighting of "pawn countries" fighting the interests of 2 opposite superpowers all over the world, aka, the US and the USSR...
WW4 (today) is the world (US, Europe, Asia, even other moderate Islamic countries) against extremist Islams wanting to turn the world into an Islamic autocracy.

But the "eastern" economies are reliant on the west for growth.. so it's a wee bit more complicated than you're letting on.
