Breeze Blocks. I want to build a raisd bed in the garden. Which Breeze Blocks are best are there's a few types

It will be 2 blocks high and about 30 blocks around in an 'L' shape.
Can anyone in the trade or business etc, tell me please if this one is any good for building the raised garden bed, bearing in mind it will be filled with soil.

We'll need about 80 of them.
We will be painting it with a Sandtex paint to make it look better.

first of ..you don't want a breeze block ..what you need is a 7 newton concrete block ..any thing less than a 7 newton block wont last 5 minutes ..and if you are making a raised bed then i suggest you use ..the first course laid flat ..the second double thick and the top laid flat again to tie them together ..this will give a height of about 450mm..and it will stand the pressure of the soil ..a single skin would move in the frost ..if you paint it then you will have to paint it every year das it will very soon start to flake and get dirty looking ..use dulux weathersheild ..these blocks are obtainable from most builders merchants and cost about 6 to 7 pounds for 10 .dont use a brick unless it is an engineering brick .but it will cost you a lot more .

The first one is an insulating block, It is usually used in an internal wall of a house.
The second one is known as a lightweight concrete block.
It is ok and will do the job but there is another block which is better. It is a Dense Concrete Block.

They are available from any builders yard or b&q.
There are 72 blocks in a pack so you will want them delivered.

the first 1 is a definit no, would not last outside the 2nd is better but
try using a facing brick as then you would have no upkeep on them after there built. IF its block you want buy fair faced block( heavy density) from a builders merchant @£7.50 p/m most merchants give free delivery
p.s block have a habit of soaking in water so painting would flake of quickly ,facing brick dont

i think the medium density one is harder and heavier which wouldnt really make a difference which u use but for a garden raised bed id go for the cheaper ones or the lightweight ones as long as the cement is mixed up well it will hold for yrs
