Sorry Lanie you are WRONG Americans have always done these jobs when they are paid a wage that they could live on. Factories have been getting rid of union workers that were paid 12-25 dollars hourly so they could hire illegals NOT because they were in danger of bankruptcy or lack of production, but because they could get illegals for 6-10 dollars hourly.
It comes down to money, plain and simple. There is no such thing as a job an American won't do for a good pay check.

First of all the price of goods WILL not go up much at all.
1. labor costs are not the only costs to consider.
2. If for we added 25% to the cost of things solely for labor costs (1.25 for something that costs 1$) That would translate to a 40-50% increase in pay, a difference of 3-5 dollars an hour per worker.

Take an accounting class or two Lanie, I have a degree. Don't even try to argue economics here. It is a FACT that lower wages does NOT equal cheaper products. ALL businesses charge as much money for things as they can get regardless of what the product costs to make. (Or do you really think high end computers cost more to make then less powerful ones?)

Funny thing about feelings. Everyone has them. There's no explaining them. They are complicated and changing. And feelings plain and simply really don't matter. Getting caught up in "feelings" is a losing battle and all it does is escalate the emotion all the more.
Let's be rational, and use the thinking side of our brains.
Illegal - criminal.
Criminal - arrest.
Arrest - jail (if US citizen) or deport (if not).
Problem solved. Without those pesky little feelings that everyone likes to throw around.

I hope they are thinking "why didn't I just come here legally?" OR "why didn't I just renew my visa and stay at a legit job, instead of working under the table in order to bring in more cash, and being greedy?"
OR I hope the illegals are thinking "Maybe I should just go back and come here the right way, then I would not have this problem."
Also, they may be thinking the same way a citizen would be thinking, because we can't get jobs without ID's, addresses, ss numbers, etc. Our kids can't get in schools without immunizations, health screens, birth certificates, ss cards, proof of address. So as a citizen, I would be angry if my kid did not get in school or I did not get a job, due to these things because illegals can do all of the above without any documents.

Undocumented workers take one third of all new jobs created in America (Data from Pew Hispanic Center). In many cities across the U.S., Americans cannot find work in hotels, fast food restaurants, etc.. Undocumented workers are taking jobs away.
California alone spends over $10 billion a year on undocumented people.
They are also taking jobs away from construction workers. They are being used to increase profits of home builders and contractors. Builders and contractors don't pass along their savings to consumers. And again that creates problems. It also causes taxpayers money by paying for unemployed people, paying for social programs for undocumented workers, loss of tax revenue, etc..
"Latinos entering the country between 2000 and 2004 were hired to fill more than one-third of all new jobs in the United States last year according to the Pew Hispanic Center.

Also, undocumented workers are not needed to pick most vegetables. They are only hired because farmers found it is cheaper to hire them then to buy new farming equipment. Farmers' profits are dramatically increased but that costs taxpayers billions of dollars. California spends over $10 billion a year because of undocumented workers.

Nobody feels good when they loose their jobs. But, if they are working illegally, than they should have been prepared for the worse.

Actually all that will happen now is the people that were getting paid by check and paying taxes are going to start working under the table and not paying the taxes that you people said they were not paying. So now instead of working and paying into the system it will all be under the table.

who cares? If they don't like it, they can feel free to leave. They broke the law by stepping over the border. ANYTHING that happens after that is tough SH*T! I have no sympathy.
