I want to quit since I am often soar and generally hate the sport. I am miserable at practice and after practice. I hurt my neck a lot at practice and it is often soar. I am 15, and freshman.

Do you have any ideas how I could convince her to let me quit? The regular season has not even started. I understand she wants me to stay in shape but I am willing to work out on my own accord instead. Help???

Yeah, be so bad at it that you are kicked off the team. Help the other team win.

Tell your mom that you with all of your heart of heart do not want to play football and ask her why she is forcing you to play something that she knows makes you so unhappy? If you are some what heavy and she is afraid of you getting out of shape why don't you find something at school that she might compromise with?

I think you should just tell your mom you really would like to stop playing football. To help convince her you could offer to play another sport instead. Running track is nice, you don't get roughed up by anyone, and you stay in great shape, or other sports like maybe basketball or something to that effect.

Talk to your coach or another teacher. Your mom should not be forcing you to play football. There are better ways to stay in shape.
