I take most of these at night. Plus I take the sleeping pill Rozerem.

Would I just skip my daily dose? I don't want to skip it but I don't want to get sick.

I feel like I am going to go crazy and really want a drink. It has been seven years, but I think I really need a drink. I think it would help me. Nothing could hurt at this point.

It won't do any good to skip your dose and they are already in your system. You can die from an overdose by mixing these with alcohol. That's what my my boyfriend's phychiatrist told him. That's way too many medications. Be careful!

Why you can drink with these drugs in your system but why would you even want to go there. You could take a chance on overdose and you know that you have a great record for no drinking. My Gosh! Seven years is so good and your doing so good! Don't start that drinking up. This will give people the chance to talk about you bad when they catch you in a weak state of mind. /Drinking. Be at your best at all times so when something comes your way that is not good or is tuff you will be ready to take it on! And no one can say well she was drunk so she is the one or the nut over there. Be very carefull when you think about drinking. There is more involved then medication here. You have to keep on your Armor for God and try to live a good life. Remember people will attack you when you at your weakest point sometimes and this can be when you drink. I wish you wouldn't drink because it makes you look bad and it makes people think less of you no matter what, even if they do it. Sometimes you have a bunch of hypocrytes out there that will do it themselves and then turn around and make you look like your the worst person in this world.lol Watch out when you decide to drink because then if you don't have a good wittiness with you at all times then you will open the door to some pretty bad things and people, that can be prevented if you had not of taken that first drink. God Bless You and you can do it. Just don't drink and smoke. smile to you.

With those medications it is highly recommended that you do not drink.

The bigger issue is why do you feel like you need a drink? If you feel like it's going to help whatever issues you are going through it will probably only make you feel worse.

However, if you desperately feel you need a drink and there is no stopping you drinking, try to drink just a small amount. Often alcohol works in reverse to drugs like paxil so even if you take your meds it would be like skipping a dosing and probably setting yourself back some (depending on how much you drink and your condition to begin with). I do not know much about the other meds but I know with sleeping meds it's almost always recommended that you don't drink, so you might skip that pill for the day if you can.

Don't do it. I take Abilify, Lexapro, Effexor and Klonopin and I won't dare drink anymore especially because of the Klonopin. When I was first put on meds, I was only taking the Lexapro and Ativan. I drank occasionally without much of a problem other than my depression would come back the next day to haunt me. My doctor told me the alcohol just cancels out the antidepressants so there's no point in taking your meds if you are going to drink.
I drank heavily one night after taking 2 mg of Ativan and I had a mild seizure and tremors that lasted 3 days. Since Ativan and Klonopin are both benzos, I would NOT recommend drinking while taking Klonopin or else you may have the same reaction I had after drinking on the Ativan.
As for skipping your meds to drink, it's just not worth it. Drinking will only make you feel worse in the long run.

I'm an alcoholic who quit drinking partially because of my depression/anxiety and the fact that I need to take my meds.

I agree that the bigger problem is that you want a drink so badly after 7 years. Sounds like you figured out before that a drink isn't going to help anything and is more than likely going to hurt. I've yet to hear that its better out there from anyone who's gone out. I'm guessing alcohol has been an issue before so you know the routine...go to a meeting, talk to a sponsor etc.

As far as drinking with the meds...each person is different so there is no telling what your reaction might be but simply not taking your meds for a day won't change the fact that they stay in your system for up to two weeks. Also keep in mind going off your meds cold turkey is bad for you as well...can cause all sorts of problems.

BTW, who prescribed the Clonopin...that kinda hardcore stuff.

With taking all these drugs I don't think it would be wise to drink alcohol. You would get drunk very quickly and that could be dangerous. Even if u skip your daily dose these drugs will still be in your system and u would still feel the effects. U are just on too many of these meds. Confirm this with your doctor. I am sure they would agree on this.

You are suffering from Bipolar, judging from your med cocktail. I can tell you that drinking while taking these meds will not give you the same buzz you are familiar with from seven years ago. I take a similar combo of meds and halfway into a drink I think to myself- "Ugh, why bother?" , the medications prevent the pleasure buzz.

You need to talk to your Pdoc and come up with an answer as to why you are reverting to your old manic/depressed self. It may be as simple as playing with your med combo, dosages, or time of day for taking your meds.

I feel for you! I have come far in my treatment but there are days I just want to have a bottle of wine and a bunch of illegal drugs.

Be strong and make an appointment!

You need to tell your doctor about how you need to have a drink. He/she will send you to a duel diagnoses therapist. They can help you with the drinking and whatever other problems you have that you are taking all those meds for.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! It would be extremely dangerous to drink while taking any of these drugs. You might never wake up afterwards.
