im not looking to put on 20's or 22's

probably 17's or 18's,will that mess up the transmission or suspension

nope get the car and use it for commuting
save your money till you are ready for the next car
do not waste $$$$$$$$$$$ on an old car.

I dont know if it will mess up the transmission or not, but dont put new rims on it, it'll look horrible!

Messes up the running of the engine--computer-- and tranny. The car is too old for rims. $2000 for wheels and tires. Not me...

Don't bother. It will look stupid. Corollas are just cheap gas-saver cars. They're fine with the 25 dollar hubcaps they come with.
