Hi,
Just download a copy of DivX and your DVD will play just fine.

Download the K-Lite Codec Pack at http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm Should work for Windows Media Player, but the pack also contains a great little free player that will play anything from .avis to dvds to .mp3s and just about anything in between.

Hi

you can try and find the codec or download a different player

try VLC player or Divx player

it depends on the video file though

this one is da best one

I think windows media player 11 should improve their message about missing a codec, they should put what kind of codec is missing... not just some kind of message just saying that codec is missing.......

Your question as you pose it can be a problem.
What software developed the Video you downloaded.
If we don't know the Format it was made with then you will need to trial and error to find it.
Here is an option that might work.

This should help you....
If not, my suggestion would be do a windows update ... perhaps you're missing something of the windows component that can be gotten via update. Good luck.
