to help improve relationship with young families and the police good idea or waste of money?
personaly i think its a waste of my tax money.

bbc/leicester.co.uk have a read!

i stand corrected if the police paid for the trip but its still a waste of time and effort the money whose ever could be better spent

Just read the link to Radio Leicester, did I miss something. I read that it was organised by the police and various local community initiatives with no mention of where the funding came from.
Did each of the representatives from the organisers, personally pay out of their own pockets? I doubt it.
Did the money come from some contingency fund? Very likely.
Were the representatives who attended paid by their relevant organisations?Who knows.
Whichever of the above prevailed, the poor bloody taxpayer picked up the tab at the end of the day, and never got a postcard or stick of rock.

The police involved in this treat to the seaside paid for it themselves SO NO TAXPAYERS MONEY WAS INVOLVED so you are all moaning about nothing if the police want to pay I cannot see why it should be a problem to anyone else. nobody can tell you how to spend your own money
