Funny then that so many who pray it end up getting born again and beginning to live for God.
Maybe God didn't read your catechism book.

The sinners prayer is not in the bible. Some denominations say all you have to do is repeat the sinners prayer and you will be a christian. WRONG!
You have to repent, be bapitised for the remission of your sins and then recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost.
I don't know what the sinners prayer is other than what I have seen on television. A preacher will tell someone to repeat after him a prayer and then they say you are now saved.
That's not in the Bible. That's man's way.
God Bless.

I' soooooo glad you asked.
Nope, the sinner's prayer is not in the Bible
There's lot's of good examples of people saying they believe and repenting of being a bad person. After that they're usually baptized right then. THEN, The Holy Spirit comes into hem (their heart). Anyway I guess the order could be reversed.

I think of a 'sinner's prayer' as ANY prayer someone uses to say to God, "yes, I acknowledge that I am a sinner, and I repent and I want Jesus Christ to save me and come to live in my heart"
That's fairly simplified, but it doesn't have to be any specific words.

The so-called "Sinner's Prayer" is found nowhere in the Bible. However, it does have the same origin as the Bible, that is, the mind of men.

It is not found in the Bible. None of the scriptures examined so far say anything about believing and praying to be saved.A person is saved by grace through FAITH, not prayer.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (Hebrews 11:6 KJV)
