No, Because of mans sinful nature. God, repented for making man. Genesis 6:6 "And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart".

NOT EVEN CLOSE, not FOR ANYTHING. He prolly thinks we're the biggest DISGRACES to His name. Human progress? What DOES THAT MEAN. NOTHING. God promises to heal the sick, no need for doctors, eh? God promises everlasting happiness and peace, no need for police or militaries, right?? God will tell you ANYTHING you wish to know about how the universe was created, so SCIENCE ISN'T EVEN AN ISSUE. God will make ALL OF US PERFECT IN HEAVEN so we will be eternally grateful and happy with ourselves and our soul mates (usually your significant other).
If it were up to God, He would have established Heaven thousands of years ago, before Christ even if it were possible. THEN and ONLY THEN would He have ever been proud of humans.

Proud of Charles Darwin for being the first evolved creature to see beneath nature's veil and work out what nature is really up to.

I don't think so. In the bible he's always complaining about something the human race is doing.

God sees the perfect human being, Jesus Christ, and the sacrifice that he made for us.
He is satisfied in what Jesus did and with faith in him.

Well, we are all different in just about everyway, so one would think they keep trying for perfection and haven't found the perfect one, since we all end up dead.
