No conspiracy-fundamental U.S. Foreign Policy.

The leading Republicans and Democrats agree on one thing: Iraq needs to shape up and pass that "Hydrocarbon Law" benchmark.

As Congressmen Dennis Kucinich, who the media usually ridicules for his height, hair style and his inability to raise Corpoate funding, said in Congress: "this war is about oil."

"The Iraqi "Hydrocarbon Law" is an issue of critical importance, but has been seriously mischaracterized and I want to provide the House of Representatives the facts and evidence to support the concerns I have expressed.

As you know, the Administration set several benchmarks for the Iraqi government, including passage of the "Hydrocarbon Law" by the Iraqi Parliament. The Administration has emphasized only a small part of this law, the "fair" distribution of oil revenues. Consider the fact that the Iraqi "Hydrocarbon Law" contains a mere three sentences that generally discusses the "fair" distribution of oil.

Except for three scant lines, the entire 33 page "Hydrocarbon Law," is about creating a complex legal structure to facilitate the privatization of Iraqi oil. As such, it in imperative that all of us carefully read the Iraqi Parliament's bill because the Congress is on the record in promoting oil privatization."

The violence and kidnapping continues. There is no foreign press. News is totally controlled. In April the US wanted to put a base in the country (supposedly for terrorist control) but where was the US in the 1990s when it was needed?

I'm sure than many wealthy oil interests supported by the US would love to have a hand in the oil in that region.

The weakest theories about what's going on are presented by the US and media. You'd be ignorant to think that there are not many conspiracies being worked in Algeria by multinationals in cooperation with governments.

There are always conspiracies in effect at many levels even among friendly nations. You may not know that England knew of the German plans to declare war on the US long before we did and alsos had information on the pending Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 47. It was in their own interest to let things play out as they did so that America could openly enter the war in Europe.

However, your "question" was so disorganized and unfocused it was impossible to frame an appropriate response.

So you think we're fighting for oil? Even looking at past wars, people still doubt the reasons we fought. Was the Civil War about slavery? Was the revolutionary war about taxation without representation? Did we fight Spain because a battleship blew up in Cuba? Who knows. History is never clear nor subject to unanimous acceptance.

To find out if a conspiracy exist you must do an investigation.

It will not be easy since it can last most of your life and you may never find the truth.

People have to agree with your premise that a conspiracy exists.

My answer to some will be labeled a "slippery slope"

Write an objective pro and con and put it away.

Look at it after some time and see if you still agree with them.
