Hi,
I suppose you mean not expensive, since a work can cost 20000 and be cheap :-)
When you mean a 3 set, you mean a triptich (can't remember the spelling) right ?
Try Artbyus, or Etsy. Good luck !
Kind regards,
José

Overpriced is a relative term, is $15,000 to much to pay for an original acrylic work by a major artist. It is nice to buy in sets. If you are just trying to cover the walls go to ebay or artposters.com If you want something original then go to a local art fair. There are two simple rules in buying art
1. Buy what you like!
2. Buy the best you can afford.
It is up to you to decide which. Course if you want to know the source of some nice $15K and above oils we can help with that also. In the middle try for limited addition serigraphs and lithographs.

Anything offered at Pier! or Target (or any other department store) is not real art but some cheap reproduction in a cheap frame for a ridiculous price.
Online I suggest eBay's Art> Self-Representing Artists category:
http://art.listings.ebay.com/Self-Representing-Artists_W0QQfclZ3QQfromZR11QQsacatZ20158QQsocmdZListingItemList
I'd look in local art fairs for work I liked. Check with an area university's fine art department for suggestions or your local arts organization.
Here's a list of online galleries which is one of many on the web:
http://www.lucidcafe.com/gallery/artbycategory/twodart.html
and Yahoo has a great directory at
http://dir.yahoo.com/Arts/Visual_Arts/Painting/Artists/
that includes links to almost 4,000 individual painters.
Unless I had millions to spend for a Picasso I'd avoid galleries. Good place to window shop though and then directly contact the artist and circumvent the gallery's overpricing.
Have fun on your search and I hope you find some original art by a living artist that you fall in love with.

You have to go to your local college or university. Buy from the art majors there. The work is usually good and very inexpensive. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those students are willing to trade their work for food or emusic downloads.

you could check on ebay if they have any unexpensive paintings or you could look at prints or posters. Sometimes if you go art festivals, there are a few artists they sell their artwork. Here a few links as well.
