Friday was the anniversary of the day my friend Lenny lost his leg in a motorcycle accident many years ago. It's still gone.
Those miners everyone is praying for are still missing, too....

Why do you rule out prosthetic limbs? Those are still new arms and legs. I saw a pic once of a man who lost both legs in Iraq...he was jogging with President Bush, and this soldier looked very pleased to be able to run again. And I bet that he was very thankful to God for his new legs (unless of course, he is Atheists or something).
Do you also ask a weekly question to find out how many legs and arms God saved from having to be amputated this week? What about asking how many people got new hands from God through a hand transplant? That's happened a few times now.
Instead of being so pessimistic about things, try looking at the "glass is half-full" side of the issue.

How many amputees simply enjoyed the life that God gave them despite missing a limb? Especially since if no one had sinned in the first place, there wouldn't have been death- and perhaps either amputations wouldn't have existed or we'd have bodies that could have healed them.
A personal note: a little over a year ago, I had necrotizing fasciitis and the doctors who performed the surgery to debride the diseased tissue raised the possibility that they would have to remove my lower (and maybe more) left leg if the infection had reached the bone. Apparently, one of them mistook my unemotional "ok" as a sign of apathy or despair, because he asked me about my lack of reaction to the news a couple of days later. I replied that it was because it wouldn't have made any difference if I had. I would still have a full life ahead of me, one that I intend on living to the fullest, come what may. Whining, complaining, or whatnot wouldn't have changed anything if they had to remove part of the leg, and if I had needed to accept that, the sooner I did so, the sooner I could get on with my life. I could either give up or go on... and I've been through too much in my life to give up now or waste another second on what-might-have-been's. Come what may, I knew God will always be with me.

Is this a joke? Yes God is powerful but you know no one will ever go to bed without a leg or arm and wake up with one by the Grace of God. Prayer doesn't work that way. I find it disturbing that people would be so disrespectful of each others beliefs. Believe in God and his word if you want, or don't. Thats your choice but you should not be judgemental or disrespectful to those that choose to believe. God may take a legs and never give back new ones but he never takes without giving back.

If we all automatically got new legs, how many of you would pray to God just once and thank Him?
How many of you would pray for the rest of your lives on thankfulness?
It would not surprise me if you had not got a gift from God; but since you are so negative about it, didn't even realize it.

You know, instead of looking at this from a negative perspective, you could look at it from the positive. You or whoever you're talking about could have lost your LIVES!! God could use as a witness for Him, give your testimony for the amazing things He has brought you through. If you came from a war, how He brought you through that nightmare, or whatever caused you to lose your limb. Quit feeling sorry for yourself and put your time to a more constructive use instead of using your disability to bash God. He loves you anyway, no matter what you say.

If you remember, the Apostle Paul had an aliment and accepted it.
"And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."
The "thorn in the flesh" was some type of physical condition which the Apostle prayed would be removed, three times. An Apostle! Not once, or twice, but three times! But, God choose not to intervene! The apostle understood that God's wisdom was above his wisdom, and there was a reason that this condition continued. (note: you may want to read the book of Job)
Life in this world is but a breath - a vapor, that's it! I know a couple of Christians which do not have use of their limbs - and they rejoice in their Savior Jesus Christ. In fact these people are a testimony of the grace of God in a person’s heart. Praise God!

I got a new leg from God yesterday. It arrived by FedEx packed in dry ice.
Not sure what the heck I'm going to do with it...

Oh, so why isn't god giving people who are missing legs a new one? We can't grow new limbs..... It'd be nice though.
