paper currency is worth as much as people believe its worth ... the real value is in precious metals assets and real estate which the bankers and super-rich maneuver to possess whilst spreading their worthless notes around ...

It all depends. Money is power while it is worth something. If you have hyperinflation, currency becomes worthless. In Zimbabwe, you can't buy a banana for what would have been the price of a house a few years ago, due to hyperinflation. In that situation, any amount of currency means nothing because in a few days it will be worthless. But in the US now a lot of people would kill for a million dollars. Gold or commodities always have a relative value, and may be more useful assets than currency.
What was the God bit about, anyway?

It really is just paper, wither it says nothing or if it says In God We Trust. The "In God We Trust" part is very comforting to me, and is very relevant, since our own government is now honest enough to tell us that our paper money is not backed by gold or anything like that, but by the good will and honor of the American people, most of which are Christians. I only hope and pray that the American people can live up to that honor and trust with the rest of the world. The alternative would not be good, but I trust that God will always honor and be with us.

Money and material wealth mean nothing to me, in a sense.

Of course in today's society they are imperative to life, but beyond the amount I need to stay alive, i have no use for money.

In other words, if I was given a million dollars, I would take perhaps 100 - 200 thousand, and give the rest to charity.

I would then use the amount I took to ensure a long-term stability in my life, opening the way for much more to go to the charity.

Am I alone in thinking this way?

Both...

Power...In that people who live by it end up at the end of it's merciless whip. When is enough, enough? Is poverty a state of not having enough money, or is poverty the condition of working three jobs to serve the money God, but never see the children or wife?

Paper...People that can see outside the hallowed halls of money and power, it is just paper.

God would prefer it if we were back to trading a few eggs for some yeast. People are too obsessed with money. Caring for little else. IF everyone that had those campers, boats, took ocean liner trips, gave it all over to feed the starving; would anyone be starving anymore?

I wouldn't know what god "cars" about--but the churches sure seem to like money. Of course, money is power. If it just sits in a pile of paper, it's meaningless.

Let's see, paper money with nothing printed on it is just paper... so I'm not really seeing your point... Oh, you're a Joshua Zombie fan... it all makes sense now.

Yes, the paper itself isn't worth anything. So then what is money? Faith. The $100 bill is worth $100 because we have faith that it's worth that amount. What if we brought it to a Bushman tribe? How much is it worth then? It now becomes toilet paper because they don't have the faith or knowledge of its value. That piece of paper is worth $100 because we have faith that it is so.
