I am assuming you are not talking about which language is being spoken but instead about how carefully any specific language is being spoken.
If you can not express your ideas unambiguously you can not contribute effectively to a development project.
There is nothing worse than looking over a troubleshooting report on a problem and wondering whether the solutions tried were the only ones or whether other more-probable ones were neglected? That report was written of course by someone who was not very careful in their choice of words.
