You have to be 18 to apprentice, too (for insurance purposes, i've been told). But, once you turn 18, definitly try to get buddy-buddy with the artist who is going to be teaching you, and maybe take some art & health classes before you go ahead with this. Not much help, but yeah, you pretty much do just walk in & ask to apprentace. But, don't be discouraged because someone says no, this is a demanding profession to be in.

You won't be able to get be apprentice until you're 18. You have to have a knowledge of tattoo history, tattoos themselves you have to know how to draw, you have to know about inks, machines, needles, diseases, steriliaztion.....I suggest you hit the books on tattooing and do a lot of drawing. You actually have to be into it...and it takes a few years to get enough knowledge....for the most part you will be cleaning up after the tattoo artists and running errands like getting lunch and coffee and answering phones and getting supplies.

For the most part if you do actually get it you will be putt
