Lately, I have been running really bad. I have just felt so tired when I run. I thought it could be my mileage getting higher. Well, I went to a running camping trip and didnt take my usual vitamins and ate bad compared to what I'm used to eating. The camp lasted about a week and then I had another camp that lasted a week and I didnt take my vitamins. So the weeks I have ran the most and the hardest, I wasnt taking my vitamins including my calcium. Now, my coach is noticing how I'm running and he thinks I might have a mild case of annemia(low iron). So whats causing my problem? Oh by the way, it started about 1 week and a half ago. Please I really just wanna know whats wrong so I can fix it. I think I'm going to be fine once I get back to my old schedule and eat my usual diet. But I'm not sure. I really just want to find out if there is anything wrong with me so I can fix and not ruin my cross country season.

Distance runners, especially girls can become anemic. This could explain your feeling tired. If you are on your schedule and still feel washed out then you need to talk to your doctor. There are many things that can make you feel this way. No advice on the Internet is going to diagnose your problem. Your doctor can.

This is what happens. You are natually super quick and like me you want to run super fast everyday so that you "get used to it". The truth I learned the hard way is a big one. This is the truth to running. When you run at your full potential you are hitting your roof over and over. What happens when you hit the roof over and over? It falls down or it sinks and so does your performance. The secret to this is to make the floor closer to the ceiling. If you do speed work and then you run really slowly almost every day (once every two weeks do race pace) then your easiest pace will naturally increase and so your floor will be higher off the ground and every good architect ( as God made us) knows the roof is always in proportion to the roof so your roof ( your highest potential) will increase. Let your body rest and make sure you get your iron, calcium and drink lots of apple and orange juice, with a protein, carb diet and you will have no limits, trust in God and Godspeed my friend.

I was a long distance runner and I am not saying I am you at all but to me it was all about determination meaning how bad did I want it. Seems to me like a week and a half ago you lost your focus and questioning if running is for you. Only you can truely know if it is. You can say it is but if your brain (you know that organ that controls it all) thinks stuff like this is too hard, well then it becomes reality and your body begins to find ways to hurt more frequently. Just reset your mind in the morning every morning and see the goal you set and before you know it, your there, pain and all but that pain feels sooooo goooood. Hope I inspired you some.

cut back a little. maybe run less, maybe stop running for 3-4 days. being sure to eat right is the most important thing tho.
