....where does that leave me?
I've been called proud, narcissistic, self-centered, shallow, vain, arrogant, egotistical....I could go on and on. There's an element of truth to all of the epithets, as well.
So, am I already condemned? There's not much I can change about me, quite honestly, so should I just give in to indulgence and sin?

I wouldn't say you are condemned. Those are good qualities to have if you don't hurt any others in the process of living your life.
Jack, you seemed to forget "rugged" in your list of Jack descriptors

The question really, Jack, is do you like those things in yourself?
If you don't, then it's probably time to work on them.
You've been told this before I'm sure. God knows your heart.
For anyone to say "it's how God made me" or in your case if you said "it's how I am, take it or leave it" - isn't that an awefully selfish way to think? Doesn't that just tell people well, I guess I'll just write this one off then?
You have to ask yourself what's the good in that? YOu want relationship - you want someone to take care of you - to love you and stand up for you right? HOw long will that last if you continue on the same path with the excuse that that is how you are?
And from the Christian perspective, I always say, "no, God made you perfect - you are just making a decision to live this way in a fallen world."
same thing....
Lucifer refused to repent of his sin. So yes, he fell because of pride. YOu on the other hand - are not already condemned. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar. (yes I read your Job question too)... you are familiar with it - the father of lies? People fall into that all the time. We all do. It's what you do with the lie that's been told that matters.
we love you Jack - don't ever forget it.
:D

The expression “shining one,” or “Lucifer,” is found in what Isaiah prophetically commanded the Israelites to pronounce as a “proverbial saying against the king of Babylon.” Thus, it is part of a saying primarily directed at the Babylonian dynasty. That the description “shining one” is given to a man and not to a spirit creature is further seen by the statement: “Down to Sheol you will be brought.” Sheol is the common grave of mankind—not a place occupied by Satan the Devil. Moreover, those seeing Lucifer brought into this condition ask: “Is this the man that was agitating the earth?” Clearly, “Lucifer” refers to a human, not to a spirit creature. Isaiah 14:4, 15, 16.

No one is "already condemned," despite being proud, self-centred, shallow, vain, arrogant, and egotistical. God loves you just the way you are. All you have to do to be delivered from these things is accept his free gift of salvation and repent.
Have a great day.

There is much you can change.. That is the point of life to evolve and change. Yes, overall God is in charge and has control,,, but we have choices. Some aspects of our personalities may not be under our control but we can examine them and work on them. Choosing to sin- it is a choice. I sin too, but to just give up isn't the answer. Everyone sins- and as long as we acknowledge these sins and ask for forgiveness and guidaince we can then begin to stray away from sin. Doing what is righteous for yourself and others- is the key.

God gave each of us agency, or the freedom to choose our behavior in any circumstance. Lucifer aka Satan would like you to think you can't change, but that's a lie.
It may be difficult to change some habits, but our Heavenly Father loves each of us and will do everything He can to help us grow and develop. That's the reason why He provided this earth.
As you start making correct choices, you'll gain the strength to resist temptation, which gives you greater and greater knowledge, freedom, and happiness.

Lucifer believed He could defeat God and led a rebellion against God. That kind of pride is a tad bit worse, to me, than the human pride of which you speak.
Pride will not condemn you by itself. You know what is needed to receive grace, so I won't go into it again.
Pride is one of those things that any of us can change, if we want. The question is do we want to change it and therein lies your answer.

Satan wasn't just cast from heaven for pride, but for an extreme pride. You may be proud and narcissistic, but are you telling God every day you're going to take away his glory?
Because of Christ's atonement all of our pride and sin is able to be cleansed. Only through his grace is it possible.

Get to know yourself and realize that you need to change yourself. Then start changing yourself and know God delights in mercy. God wants you to better yourself because he wants a relationship with you. The adversary has been in the presence of God and still wanted to be better than him. You just are selfish. Selfishness can be changed by getting know your God and yourself, and finding why you do things you don't want to do and then finding a way to stop doing the things you don't want to do.
God Bless.
