I'm a WWII historian and have spent the past 20 years collecting an example of arms from every country involved in WWII. I'm not finished but I do have one of just about everything that's not automatic.
Avoid Mitchell's like the plague! They sell some nice LOOKING rifles, if all you care about is looks. They also are very deceptive...selling Yugoslavian rifles as German K98 Mausers. Stay away and don't waste your money.

I have quite a few rifles from this guy, he's fair and honest and hand picks each gun from the distributors, so you know you get the best available for a small fee on his part.

Big distributor, has good sales. No public pricing, but I have an account and you can ask me what you should expect your local dealer to pay.

Big distributor. I have used them a lot.

This is the place to discuss WWII rifles and the place to buy and trade on the forums.

Finally, if you don't have a Garand or a 1903 Springfield, get them soon!

No Go on the Remington 770...... Although Remington makes fine firearms the 770 isn't one of there better ideas..... The Savage 111 is a fine choice.... These are well built, reliable and decently accurate..... The Mossberg 100-ATR is also a decent rifle but its and economy rifle.... I say the Savage has the edge concerning quality.... Weatherby Vanguard?.... Don't know a thing about them to comment..... Another cheap rifle that's decent is the Stevens Model 200.....

DJ is right on,those are great sites to fuel your intrest in WW2 rifles, surplus rifle is one of my favorite sites, lots of great info on any rifle you have in mind, plus good tips on buying, shooting, cleaning, and restoration.DJ is also right on those Mitchell Mausers to,pretty much overpriced as others just as nice can be had cheaper.enjoy your search and purchase, but beware,it can be contagious, you can get Mosinitis,Garand thumb,or countless other symptoms of milsurpitis..LOL!

Do you have a C&R license? If not, you are stuck with whatever gun stores are in your general area. If you do, try gunbroker.com or auctionarms.com. Also, Shotgun News, a weekly paper found in most magazine racks, will have info about sites that sell surplus guns too.
