They look like uncircumsized penises, and I can't believe that the senseless burbling as a language they do (and Telletubies fall into this as well) is considered educational for children. And as long as I've mentioned Telletubies, the baby in the sun is just terrifying. IF I had kids, these shows (along with Barney) would be banned and I would even make sure the day care I used didn't let kids watch it.

The above poster will get a rude awakening when she finally learns that exposing children under 2 years old to television increases their likely hood of ADD and ADHD greatly.

There is no age appropriate or educational television for children under 2. Even the Baby Einstein videos were found to have a negative effect on children. Shows like Boobah and Teletubbies are geared towards children so young they cannot even speak.

Any parent that buys into that should be ashamed, and I wish they would spend a few minutes on the internet looking up facts about exposing their children to the fast moving images of television while their brains are still developing.

TV is not a babysitter.

I'm not a big fan of Boohbah. Although actually, I hate the "family" that's on the show more than the Boobah's. You may think the baby in the sun is terrifying but my toddler absolutely loves it. It's her favorite part of the show.

Listen, it's clear that you don't really have children. You learn that children's shows are for children. And I would much rather my kids watch a gentle show like Barney than something completely inappropriate like Pokemon.

I find them all annoying as hell. I cant believe some of this is actually on tv. Telletubies Annoy me because the are suposed to be guys and carry purses. Boobah scares the crap out of me. I see no point in what they teach kids. Barney is annoying but at least he teaches something.

I can't stand them either! My friend's son was in love with them and had each of the dolls that dance and mumble. I remember when I lived in Germany and took a trip to England. We had 3 channels on the tv and that's when I first saw Teletubbies. I thought, "My god, how stupid is this!" Then we I finally moved back to the states they were HUUUGE! I don't get it. It's not educational at all. I won't turn it on for him to watch. I totally agree with you.

Yeah, Boobah gives me the heebie jeebies. Regardless of its educational value our daughter doesn't watch it because I can't stand it. She doesn't watch tv much anyway, and neither do I, so we're in the habit of finding other educational/entertaining things to do.

completely prevalent and particularly hassle-free. that's observed as "Coulrophobia" (see link under). Oh, and in case you wanna be truly freaked out then attempt doing a google image seek for "Ouchy the Clown". *shudder*

You mean the Boobah on BabyTV??? My son (10 months) loves him... but just because YOU associate dirty things with him doesn't make him bad... it just makes YOU dirty! These animals and characters are designed with children in mind - trying to stimulate areas of their brains that we take for granted. Doesn't matter if you like them or not because they aren't geared towards you, so get over it.
