A pic I found unexpectedly of my second cousin (who I don't personally know) had him in uniform in Bavaria Germany where my family came from, wearing a dagger, SS uniform, the hat with the skull on it and on the cuffband, it had the initials "RFSS" Does anyone know what that means? What he may have been involved with? He later fled to Paraguay. Does this mean he likely did something very bad? I'm just curious from the info I could dig up but now I'm stuck. Thanks for your help.

In all, five people held the title of Reichsführer-SS during the twenty years of its existence. Three persons held the position as a title while two held the actual SS rank. Commanding General of the SS

· Julius Schreck (1925–1926)

· Joseph Berchtold (1926–1927)

· Erhard Heiden (1927–1929)

· Heinrich Himmler (1929–1945)

· Karl Hanke (1945), the last leader of the SS, was appointed to the position in April 1945 but never learned of his promotion and was killed by partisans before word of his appointment reached him.
