Chicken stew usually uses all pieces of the chicken, including the drumsticks! If you want the boneless variety of the chicken for your stew, then season and bake your legs first. Remove the skin and shred the meat for your stew. Good luck!

Oh yes!!!! Absolutely! The drumsticks have lots of collagen in them and will make a lovely broth, which you can thicken to make your stew luscious...Simmer the drumsticks for 15-20 min. starting with cold, fresh water... then remove them from the pot and let them cool to the touch....remove the meat from the bones and place the meat in the fridge. Put the bones and skin back into the water that you simmered them in. Add salt , spices you like and simmer for about another hour. After this time, strain the broth through cheesecloth. Refrigerate and then remove the fat which will have risen to the top from the broth before continuing with your recipe. Enjoy!!!

yes. the best way to do this is boil the drumsticks ahead of time (you can use water, broth or beer) to soften the meat away from the bone. once it is cooked and cooled, you can pull the meat away from the bone and use it in the stew as normal. you can even use the broth in the stew for flavor!

They'll work really well. It's dark meat after all and that's where the flavor is. You won't have as much meat as if you used a whole mixed pack of pieces, but the flavor will be great.
