this is tricky and the answer may surprise you
the child requires photographic ID to fly on most airlines and believe it or not the only ID your grandaughter can get is a passport.
She cannot have driving licence. she is to young for a student ID card. ANY OTHER FORM OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ID is not suitable for the airlines
SO THE ANSWER IS YES SHE DOES REQUIRE A PASSPORT OR SHE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRAVEL

My colleague who is Scots flew from London to Glasgow said he needed passport for the whole family.I thought he was pulling my leg, but,he was serious.New security measures.

no she doesn't but will probably need some form of I D check with the Airline you are flying with to see if they require I D for her or not and if so what sort of I D they require I have recently been to Edinburgh and for me my works I D was fine but what I have said about the Airline is probably your best bet

dont be doing anything rash, like going to London.

That's no place to take a grown up never mind a child.

Far better off staying in Glasgow with decent people!

You only need Passports if you speak Glaswegian and need a translator LOL

so you ned to go to the post office and get one
it takes about a week or a little more to process

No you don't. Travel within the UK do not require passports.
