i mean athests believe christians are people who are ignorant and christians believe atheist are people who are ignorant. when both are ignorant you can't say God doesn't exists because you can't see Him and you can't say God exists because you can't see HIm. The truth is you don't have evidence to prove neither case all we have is second hand evidence atheist say fossils are proof but where you physically there a million years ago, and the bible how many times has it been written. i lean toward the bible because if you have two eye witnesses in a court case you usually win and the bible has four for Jesus and some of the events in the bible are historically acurate.

I'm not blind to atheists' views. I totally understand what and why they believe what they do. It is their choice. But why don't they just accept the differences; always demanding PROOF. We don't have to provide it, anymore than they do. We believe in Jesus Christ because of all he has done in our lives. We have the proof! If it was simple enough, I'd say, 'here, have my proof', but they just close their minds to what we have experienced saying we are ignorant because we believe in a God. Well, we feel secure in 'our God' as a means to an end; our lives. It works for us and I don't care what anyone says, they will NEVER persuade me otherwise.
I have witnessed miracles in this world, and what you describe of your life, it IS a miracle you are alive today. I Believe it was God who spared your life and that's something to rejoice in. Now ask yourself how you can make your life more fulfilling since it has been spared. I ask myself that every day and part of that fulfillment is to help, comfort, and protect others. Make your life a joy to others and yourself. (And for me as a Christian, God is the way to that fulfillment.)

Some punctuation would help your communication.

By four eyewitnesses, I assume that you mean the writers of the gospels, unfortunately there is now reason to believe that the gospels were actually written by eyewitnesses nor that they were written until 50 to 60 years after the the time of Christ. It is also significant that contemporary writers (those that wrote at the time of Christ) didn't mention any of the events contained in the Bible and that it was not until the 2nd or 3rd century that they did.

As for "seeing" or not being able to see god this is not strictly true, we can't "see" quarks or other subatomic particles, but we do see various evidence of their existence The question then is do we see evidence for the existence of god and the answer is no.

A fossil or two might be considered "second hand" but when it's thousands and thousands discovered all over the world. along with various artifacts left by early man and his relatives, it 's no longer second hand but serious evidence.

"you can't say God doesn't exists because you can't see Him"
That is not my position at all.

"fossils are proof but where you physically there a million years ago"
I don't think "you need to be there to conclude what happened" is a very valid position.

"i lean toward the bible because if you have two eye witnesses in a court case you usually win and the bible has four for Jesus"
a) you're not very smart
b) "what the bible says is true because it says so in the bible" is not a solid position to argue from.

I am not blind to the other point of view, I received 12 years of thorough education in it. It is obviously just a fairy tale, but I make this judgment based on a full knowledge of Christian theology, not on ignorance.

By the way - none of the authors of the gospels ever met Jesus. Mark was written no earlier than 70 CE, and probably more like 90 CE. The other gospels are derived from his.

"when both are ignorant you can't say God doesn't exists because you can't see Him and you can't say God exists because you can't see HIm."

Atheists' disbelief is not because "you can't see Him".

You should have learned something about atheism before trying to post on this topic - what you've got here pretty thoroughly demonstrates that Christians are blind to atheists' viewpoints, but you were completely unable to make the case for the opposite.

You believe in god because you shoot at people?
That's pathetic, and terribly naive.

"i am not a christian
i didn't say i believe in the bible"

You said "i lean toward the bible", and you cited your belief in Jesus.

Get your story straight, kid.

I can definitely see other people's viewpoints. Just because I disagree with them doesn't mean I'm blind to them. I mean no one can agree to all viewpoints. They are contradicting. So I chose to believe God is real and He sent Jesus to die for us. And Atheists don't in God, or any gods.

None of the gospels in the Bible were written by eyewitnesses. The author of Luke even admits that he is handing down what was handed down to him - an admission that he was not an eyewitness.

You don't have any eyewitnesses. You have a book. Learn the difference. You could just as well say there were thousands of eyewitnesses to Luke Skywalker receiving a medal in Star Wars IV.

I agree with Weird Darryl.

I was an ignorant unbeliever once, and now I am an enlightened believer; so I also have no problem seeing the other point of view, thank you very much.

I was a Christian once and am now an atheist, so I am quite capable of seeing both points of view, thank you very much.
