I used the phrase "lost my mind" intentionally. There are many classifications and sub-classifications for a mind that isn't normal. Probably created for medical billing purposes.

I simply want to know if one is aware when their mind is not normal or in the process of not being normal.

Probably not, because it is like having high blood pressure: without a medical diagnosis, by the time you realize something might be amiss, it is too late.
To yourself, you are "normal" because, usually, the change is so slow. To others, especially those who see you occassionally, the change could be noticeable.

I think I have lost my mind but may never had one to begin with, at least not one that stuck with me. Maybe its been replaced by some micro chip already and someone else is controlling my mind.

Maybe. Maybe not. It depends on whether your are delusional (believing that thoughts or experiences are real when they are not). Other people often are a better judge on whether your thinking is grossly disorganized and/or irrational. If when they tell you as much, you get defensive, angry, paranoid... it's time to go to the doc. If you're worried, go to the doc.

Asking total strangers on Yahoo Answers is a warning sign.

Try to describe what you're feeling then people can help you, there's no such thing as 'losing your mind', only a large number of conditions that cause you to feel like you are.

You need to detail more..
What are some signs your having? Depression, anxiety, bipolar, total insanity, drugs?
if your stable enough to realize you have a problem, your okay, but see a doctor.

Maybe you should call your Dr.'s office because they always have someone on call that can call you right back and talk to you.
