to add to that u can buy high altitude plasmas if that is where u live.

At higher altitudes, plasma TVs need to work harder to cool the gas, which in turn makes the fans (if the TV has fans) work harder and louder. TVs without fans use a cooling system which emits a buzzing sound. In the long run, the TV won't last as long as a TV at a lower altitude.
