Ok, option number 1 is a black tribal armband all the way around my right arm. I've always liked it, and wanted one for years. Option number 2 is a red and black nautical star on the back of my right arm. I just recently found out about this, but it really appeals to me because of it's history and meaning. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not going to decide on anything by what answerers say, I just want a little feedback. This will be my first tattoo, and I need to decide by Sep. 16th, because that's my best friend's b-day, and that's when we were going to get them.

Honestly, I would take the time to design something yourself. Both of your ideas are very common, and you might want something a little more personal. Don't get me wrong - my first tattoo was a nautical star, and I, too, liked the meaning. But now, a few years later, I'm designing something to add to it, because I'm so tired of seeing them everywhere. It makes me feel like I'm just like everyone else..
Between the two, I'd go for the nautical star, but make it something different, and meaningful to you. Good luck!

First of all...you DON'T have to decide by Sept. 16...you have a lifetime to decide. If you put a timeframe on making a decision on a tattoo, I promise you will pressure yourself into making a hasty decesion that you will come to regret.
Of the two choices you have offered, I would go with the tribal band. Bands can be formed to be unique and striking. Nautical stars, while they carry significance, are over used and, frankly, ordinary.
Take your time and get something that is worthwhile.

Get the red and black nautical star. It is so much cooler than the tribal armband because it actually has meaning behind it. When someone says, "hey, I like your tattoo." It would be so much cooler to be able to tell them the history behind the nautical star than to just say, "yeah, it's a tribal armband."

Personally, I really like the nautical star. I think you should get that one because you like the meaning and history of it, which i think is important to have when you get a tattoo (for it to have some meaning that's important that you like).
Hope I helped. :o)

Tribal armbands have been out of style for years. I would go with Option 2.

Just do what I do...try to get a pic of the tats, (actual size of course) cut them out, and place them on your arm where you want the tat to go. Look in the mirror, ask friends, and see wish one satisfies you the most. You could actionly draw them on if you have a friend who is talented enough. Kinda "try 'em on" you could say.

I'm actually going in a few weeks to get one done between my tatas, eventually I want them going all the way down my belly to my girly parts!
But deffy get the nautical star!! They rock. (Plus the red and black will be so hott!) If I saw you on the street w/it I would deffy compliment you.
