The literal devil you mean? Fallen angel, leader of demons, major player in Revelations etc? No, I don't. Being an atheist, I don't subscribe to the dualistic theology he's so central to. It does interest me that he came to his position of prominence in religious thinking when early Christians needed an explanation for why their Messiah didn't in fact rule the world, and had been strung up to bleed and die instead. They needed a universal bogeyman to explain that flaw in the plan, and they gave the Judaic concept of Lucifer the Satan (or adversary) a theological makeover to beef up his powers considerably, to the point where he could act as that bogeyman.

Demons...very much depends on the definition. Despite my atheism, I believe in the potential existence of human spirit energy after material death That being so, "demons" could be nothing more than angry former humans seeking to retain an influence in the world. That, I think, is possible. Fallen angels and all that? Notsomuch.

I believe they are real in the minds of those who really believe there is a devil and set of demons.

Other than that, I can't say I believe in demons, but then again, define the word demon. It could mean a personal fear, or a metaphysical being that is from Christian theology.

God knows I don't want to. However, quite often in my dreams I am running or fighting or pleading against a dark (just blackness) force with no face or cause. I awake pretty scared and certain evil exists even if demons don't. I suppose because I do believe in God, it makes sense that there would be someone (or someangel) that would try to take on the throne for control.
But the faithful know that power of good is insurmountable.:o]

Yes! I believe in Satan and his legion of Demons. I was possessed by Satan for many years. I was into extremely heavy satanic black metal music for nearly 20 years of my 34 years on earth. I was extremely vile and hateful towards anything involving God or the church. If I heard the name Jesus Christ, it made me sick to my stomach.

But these days I am saved in the Lord Jesus Christ, I have been cleansed and I have restarted my life in God.

I haven't felt so alive in my entire life.

I trashed all of those CD's and tapes that were involved in satanism and now I listen to Christian music. Sonicflood, Casting crowns, Third day, David Crowder...etc..etc..etc.

I am so thankful the Lord gave me a second chance.

This is a true story and it should not be taken lightly.

God Bless.

One primary cause lurks behind the suffering and tragic circumstances that afflict so many people. The Bible reveals that a powerful. intelligent and seemingly infinitely influential being actively orchestrates the wickedness that dominates our planet. Most of us have heard of him. The Bible most often calls him the devil and Satan.
