Like everyone said, only if he does it to the point of exhausting his tears on a daily basis. If he cries once in a blue moon and over a truly valid subject, then it's OK. Yeah, it's true, most girls do want a man who can protect the girl and while crying may not be a sign of weakness offhand, crying *all the time* can. I mean let's face it, if a girl were to cry all the time, who the heck would want that? I think it applies to either sex. I guess it's just more acceptable to see a girl cry more often than her boyfriend you know, just because. I personally wouldn't mind if a guy cried in my arms over something that trully mattered to him, but I'd prefer if he keeps it to a minimum... as I would with any other person. So, there's nothing wrong with going soft every once in while.

I think it depends on why he is crying and how often.
If he is crying because he is going through some problems and feeling comforted is helping to release the emotion then I wouldnt have a problem.
If he cried every time I held him I would be a little freaked out by it to be honest.
I have been with my husband for 20 yrs and I have seen him cry about 10 times! He is not big on crying but because it happens so rarely I am always very moved when he does cry.If a guy is crying all the time and for no real reason I would get a little tired to be honest.

this is permitted once every 2 years, while heavily intoxicated, with a girl who is head over heals in love with you.
Seriously. ^
If there is really something that has hurt you, cry it out on a therapists couch. Women need strength and courage in a man. It is required for their attraction mechanisms.
If this becomes a habit, your girlfriend will lose attraction for you. Not because she's insensitive or a bad person, but because women are hard wired by their genes to select a mate who is strong and unaffected.
Most of the girls on here will tell you that its ok, sweet, human, normal, etc. What they are incapable of understanding is that it subconsciously MAKES THEM LOSE ATTRACTION FOR A GUY. Especially these younger girls - since most respondents in this section are girls age 13-17. These are the same girls who think they've fallen in love every time they have a boyfriend. BEWARE THE TEENAGE GIRL ADVICE.
I'd really like to know more about the cause behind the crying if its something that has happened more than once, I have a background in psychology and might be able to help. email me.

Probably true, but that is sad. Crying is a very human thing and I feel sorry for anyone who denies themselves this show of emotion. Some men hide behind this male bravado and stuff back their feelings. Somehow they think it makes them less a man. In the process I think they mess themselves up mentally with keeping a lid. The go on to be twisted as men. Further I think they mess up their children with their model of being male.

I had a boyfriend who cried constantly to the point where I had to tell him to grow up- I wouldn't mind if it was because his dog died or something- but he cried over EVERYTHING- If I looked at him wrong he would cry- finally I walked out, I felt like I was constantly comforting him, and it was emotionally and physically draining.

no hes not considered soft at all. i think it takes more strength to be able to cry in a girlfriends arms than it takes to hold it in.
if my boyfriend cried in my arms i think i would love him even more.

No, it isn't considered soft. Heck men are humans also. Even though in our society we don't think men have feelings.
Men just choose not to show their emotions as easy as the girls.

I would not think so depending on what it was about. If your crying over a nice sunset then yes your soft, but if a friend died then no.

Every one is bound to be emotional at one time or the other. It's the basic human nature. One is stronger if he/she can overcome emotion.
Else, time solves the situation.
