different strokes for different folks !!
but s&m requires a lot of trust and honesty on both sides and its important that you state from the beginning of a relationship that this is something you are into.
Also if you really like this girl you could explain to her why and what it is about s&m that you like and maybe introduce her to books and magazines and other forums to help her to understand the attraction in it for you.
You never know she may be wiling to give it a go if you are open and calm about it.

Be honest up front before sex about what you like and dont like. You will find out quickly if someone is 'into' the same things you are. Also, there are probably clubs or groups in your area where people with like minds congregate. I suggest looking up such places and try meeting someone there.

You should be discussing sex before you actually have it anyway, so just ask them. And you need to be discussing sexually transmitted diseases, condoms, birth control, etc.
By the way, being the dominant one in S&M is actually not the one controlling the situation. The sub in the relationship controls what happens by either allowing your or not allowing you to do what you do to them. So in essense you are being woman controlled both in and out of the bedroom.
